After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lewis County, the Preston Knights were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They rang in the new year with a 51-39 victory over Trinity Christian. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Preston also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Preston can attribute much of their success to Cameryn Sypolt, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 17 rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella White, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Preston has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Trinity Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Preston will head out on the road to face off against Uniontown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Uniontown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 574th in Pennsylvania, while Preston is ranked 46th in West Virginia). As for Trinity Christian, they will be playing at home against Clay-Battelle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
