The Cottondale Hornets lost against the Blountstown Tigers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Cottondale had to suffer through a rough 70-14 loss at the hands of Blountstown. Cottondale has struggled against Blountstown recently, as their game on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Blountstown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cyianna Smith, who scored 20 points. Smith has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jalynn Copeland, who scored 17 points.
Cottondale's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Blountstown, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Cottondale will look to defend their home court on Friday against Malone at 5:30 p.m. As for Blountstown, they will head out on the road to square off against Sneads at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Sneads will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 593rd, while Blountstown is ranked 223rd).
