Basketball Recap: Bishop Kenny's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Bishop Kenny had won five straight games and Kathleen Crawley did her part to make it six on Friday. The Bishop Kenny Crusaders took their game with ease, bagging a 54-21 win over the Braden River Pirates thanks in part to Crawley, who went 7 of 11 on her way to 18 points and five steals. She is becoming a predictor of Bishop Kenny's success: when she posts at least three steals the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when she doesn't).

The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Mayer, who posted five points and six steals. Those six steals gave her a new career-high.

Bishop Kenny's record now sits at 9-2. As for Braden River, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Bishop Kenny and St. Petersburg will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Bishop Kenny is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season. As for Braden River, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southeast at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
