Deposit-Hancock is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Sandy Creek by a score of 5-2.
Addison Makowski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 15 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sarah Gross, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Deposit-Hancock hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in nine consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Bloomfield's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They never let Chautauqua Lake get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bombers, who have now won 17 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Ashlyn Wright, who gave up just two hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Chautauqua Lake off the board.
On the hitting side, Sydney Falsone was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Calla McCombs, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Deposit-Hancock's win bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Bloomfield, their victory bumped their record up to 22-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Deposit-Hancock has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Bloomfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 1.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
