After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tuba City, Northland Prep Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Greyhills Academy Knights 12-6. Considering the Spartans have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Blayden Cosper was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Michael Cary was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Northland Prep Academy is undefeated when Cary posts three or more RBI, but 4-7 otherwise. Colson Skersick was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
The victory got Northland Prep Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Greyhills Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
