Cripple Creek-Victor's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Wednesday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 78-55 walloping at the hands of Centennial. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Cripple Creek-Victor struggled afterwards.
Cripple Creek-Victor's defeat came about despite a quality game from Damian Reyes, who scored 23 points. Myles Durham was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Nederland scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 73-39 victory over Vanguard Classical East. The team's offensive explosion also rewarded Nederland with their most commanding win of the season.
Nederland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rick Fortunato out in front who scored 13 points along with six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Ritch, who scored 13 points.
Cripple Creek-Victor's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Nederland, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.
Everything came up roses for Cripple Creek-Victor against Nederland in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 62-28 victory. Will Cripple Creek-Victor repeat their success, or does Nederland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
