If the Block Bears were riding high off their 68-20 takedown of the Harrisonburg Bulldogs on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Block ended up on the wrong side of a tough 59-39 walloping at the hands of Madison on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Block can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Madison is ranked 76th).
Madison's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ja'Darrian Williams led the charge by scoring 12 points. Jerrell Henderson was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Block has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Madison, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Block will be home for the holidays to greet Ferriday at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Madison will be home for the holidays to greet Marksville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
