The Overton Bobcats have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 60-35 walloping at the hands of Hillsboro on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Overton has scored all season.
Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyree Christian, who scored 13 points. That was a full 37.1% of Overton's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ryleigh Meanus was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Overton has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-6 record this season. As for Hillsboro, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Overton will take on the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hunters Lane has now lost 16 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 21. As for Hillsboro, they will head out on the road to square off against the Ravens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cane Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Burros are ranked 17th).
