Sutter is on a five-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Colfax is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Sutter Huskies will take on the Colfax Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Last Monday, things could have been worse for Sutter, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-42 loss to Twelve Bridges. While losing is never fun, Sutter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 527th, while Twelve Bridges is ranked 256th).
Despite the defeat, Sutter got a solid performance out of Naseem Bhatti, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gannon Deal, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, even though Bear River scored an imposing 57 points on Monday, Colfax still came out on top. Colfax walked away with a 64-57 win over Bear River.
Sutter's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Colfax, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Sutter beat Colfax 51-43 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Sutter repeat their success, or does Colfax have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
