Timothy Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elisabeth Van Den Berg, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sami Drye, who scored 11 points.
Timothy Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Chicago Hope Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Janessa Centeno led the charge by scoring 16 points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for Centeno. Amoria Allen was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and four blocks.
Timothy Christian's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 6-6. As for Chicago Hope Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
Timothy Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Walther Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chicago Hope Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Ida Crown Jewish Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
