Mt. Carmel proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by nine) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Rancho Bernardo 7-6.
The team relied heavily on Kaili Martha, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Naya Leuck, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, West Hills fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Del Norte on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nighthawks. The Wolf Pack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aylesbury wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Addison Nuzzo, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Lili Leija also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
West Hills' loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Mt. Carmel, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Mt. Carmel hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like West Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Mt. Carmel got the 'W' in their previous matchup on Thursday against West Hills by a conclusive 10-1 score. Do the Sundevils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolf Pack turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
