It was a good run, but the Summit Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Delta, falling 60-24. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Summit has scored all season.
Summit's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Doussouba Sylla, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Katelynn Smith who scored five points.
Delta got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Randee Ahlberg out in front who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Ahlberg continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Taylor Somers was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Summit's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-8. As for Delta, their victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-4.
Summit will head out on the road to challenge the Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Coal Ridge will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Delta, they and the Bears will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Rifle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 37 on Saturday.
