Vinal RVT has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Grasso Tech Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Vinal RVT suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They were dealt a 80-28 loss at the hands of Lewis Mills. While losing is never fun, Vinal RVT can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while Lewis Mills is ranked 30th).
Meanwhile, Grasso Tech pushed their score all the way to 74 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 83-74 hit to the loss column at the hands of Goodwin Tech. Grasso Tech has not had much luck with Goodwin Tech recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Grasso Tech got a solid performance out of Nick Stavesky, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds. Stavesky continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Charis Johnson, who scored 14 points along with eight assists and five steals.
Vinal RVT bumped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight at home. As for Grasso Tech, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Vinal RVT couldn't quite finish off Grasso Tech in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 52-49. Can Vinal RVT avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
