The Dixie Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Thornwell Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dixie will be strutting in after a victory while Thornwell will be coming in after a loss.
Dixie posted their biggest win yet this season on Thursday. Everything went their way against South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind as Dixie made off with a 39-13 win. Given Dixie's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind is ranked 623rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dixie found their leader in underclassman Jaylia Turner, who scored 12 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Kerri O'Shields, who scored four points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Thornwell's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. Their rough 40-15 loss to Calhoun Falls Charter might stick with them for a while.
Dixie is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-8 record this season. As for Thornwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
