Basketball Recap: North Broward Prep Comes Up Short

North Broward Prep lost against Somerset Academy - Canyons back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The North Broward Prep Eagles had to suffer through a 69-34 loss at the hands of the Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ysamar Pimentel and Alexa Schwartz certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Pimentel posted ten points and six rebounds, while Schwartz put up seven points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Schwartz has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played.

Somerset Academy - Canyons found their leader in freshman Alana Pinnock, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. Those 12 boards set a new season-high mark for Pinnock. Another player making a difference was Delanie Doty, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 15 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

North Broward Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

North Broward Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 60-18 win against Winthrop College Prep Academy on the 20th. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, they will take on Monsignor McClancy in a tournament on December 27th. Somerset Academy - Canyons is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.4 points per game this season.
