Corry has won three straight games at home, while Fairview has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Beavers will welcome the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, Corry earned a 6-1 victory over Conneaut Area.
Wyatt Swan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Corry is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-6 otherwise. Swan was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. That double was his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Corry got a great performance from Bryce Chelton as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Chelton also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Beavers are undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 3-7 otherwise.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Tucker Jackson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Hunter Donoghue also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Fairview never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Northwestern. Considering the Tigers have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to Luke Rzodkiewicz's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Andrew Stevens and Brayden Hennessy did most of the damage at the plate: Stevens went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Hennessy went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Blake Hawley, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.
Fairview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northwestern only posted an OBP of .200.
Fairview's win bumped their record up to 9-0-1. As for Corry, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Corry has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Fairview struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Corry suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Fairview in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Beavers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
