Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Churchill County

Churchill County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They never let the South Tahoe Vikings get on the board and left with a 19-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-0 on Saturday.

Peyton Prinz made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Prinz was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Maddison Keller was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Layla Walker was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Churchill County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .737. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Churchill County's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for South Tahoe, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Churchill County will square off against North Valleys at 10:00 a.m. on March 15th. As for South Tahoe, they will face off against Dayton at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
