Kelliher/Northome walked away with a 73-63 victory over Cass Lake-Bena. For Kelliher/Northome, this counts as revenge for the 55-50 defeat Cass Lake-Bena walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.
It was another big night for Kate Thayer, who scored 30 points along with nine steals and five rebounds. Thayer is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ella Thayer, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Kelliher/Northome's victory was their 12th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.75 points. As for Cass Lake-Bena, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kelliher/Northome will take on Red Lake at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Lake will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Kelliher/Northome is ranked 84th). Cass Lake-Bena will take on Mountain Iron-Buhl at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mountain Iron-Buhl has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,083 points over their last 14 matchups.
