It was a proper cat-fight when Dillon challenged Loris on Monday. The Wildcats fell 11-7 to the Lions.
Ashlyn Wallace made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Makenna Meekins, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Georgetown beat Johnsonville 10-5 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.
Mills Felts was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Satcher Felts, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Georgetown lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Dillon has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Georgetown, their record now sits at 9-6.
Georgetown's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Dillon has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Georgetown, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Dillon keep running through batters, or will the Bulldogs buck the trend?
