Governor Mifflin extended the longest winning streak in Berks Inter-County 1 this week by beating Twin Valley, 42-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Mustangs.
Conrad Weiser moved up to 87 from 121 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Scouts were able to make move up by beating Reading 49-21.
Conrad Weiser's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nick Schoener threw for 138 and two touchdowns and Will Wagner had 59 yards receiving. On the ground Angle Cruz chipped in 155 yards. Colby Auman helped Conrad Weiser's passing attack out by catching two balls for 38 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Schoener and Cruz Alan Moyer's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Schoener leads the league in passing with 1057 yards, while Cruz has rushed for 1399 yards this season. Exeter Township's Alex Dundore leads the league in receiving yards with 316 on 13 catches.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Conrad Weiser takes on second place Governor Mifflin. The Scouts beat the Knights last week, while Governor Mifflin bested the Raiders.
Two of the top units in Berks Inter-County 1 will face off this week when Conrad Weiser takes on Dominic Vecchio's team. The Scouts' offense has recorded 318 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Mustangs have permitted only 120 on the year.
