The Layton Christian Academy Eagles entered their tilt with the Mountain View Bruins with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Layton Christian Academy took down the Bruins 76-60 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Layton Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyrin Jones, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. Alan Gballou was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Despite the defeat, Mountain View saw an underclassman step up: Bryce Mella scored 28 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Simeon Suguturaga, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Layton Christian Academy pushed their record up to 20-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.
Layton Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Provo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday. As for Mountain View, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Payson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 192 points over their last three games.
