Softball Recap: Charlotte Extends Winning Streak to Four

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Charlotte). They put the hurt on the La Pryor Bulldogs with a sharp 19-0 victory on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Trojans with their most commanding win of the season.

Maggie Maddox was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Maddox was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Kadence Luna and Emilie Ramon did most of the damage at the plate: Luna got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI, while Ramon scored three runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Ramon a new career-high in stolen bases. Eva Garcia was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

Charlotte always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .650. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win (which was Charlotte's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for La Pryor, they moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charlotte will challenge Three Rivers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Charlotte has won seven straight at home dating back to last season, while Three Rivers won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for La Pryor, they will face off against Brackett at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. La Pryor is facing Brackett at the right time seeing as Brackett is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
