They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 100-68 victory over Edison. Weston Ranch has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 27 points or more this season.
Weston Ranch's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Richard Banks led the charge by dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Banks has scored all season. Mateen Rafiq was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with six assists and six steals.
Edison lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Damarcus Cobb Jr, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Johnson, who scored 16 points.
Weston Ranch's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 89.7 points per game. As for Edison, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8.
Weston Ranch will head out on the road to square off against Bear Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bear Creek will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 597th, while Weston Ranch is ranked 92nd). As for Edison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stagg at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
