The Fort Collins Lambkins will take on the Poudre Impalas at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.
Fort Collins is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Pomona 81-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Lambkins have posted since January 27th.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Collins to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marcel Herrera, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 rebounds gave Herrera a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Burkett, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 17 points.
Fort Collins was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Poudre came into Thursday's matchup having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Niwot by a score of 58-48 on Thursday.
Poudre's win came from a few key players Fort Collins will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Blake Brewster, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Trujillo, who had ten points.
Poudre's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Fort Collins, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Fort Collins has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Poudre struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Fort Collins won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in February, slipping by Poudre 45-44. Will Fort Collins repeat their success, or does Poudre have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
