The Achievement First Providence Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the West Warwick Wizards at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Achievement First Providence has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while West Warwick will arrive with four straight victories.
On January 8th, Achievement First Providence ended up a good deal behind Paul Cuffee and lost 53-34. Achievement First Providence was down 41-20 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Achievement First Providence's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Steven Rodriguez, who scored ten points, and Stephen Adedire who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, West Warwick put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past St. Patrick Academy, posting a 71-30 victory at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win West Warwick has posted yet this season.
West Warwick can attribute much of their success to Owen Stearns, who scored six points along with two steals, and Zack Lawrence, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Viveiros, who scored seven points.
Achievement First Providence dropped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for West Warwick, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
