Battle Ground Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 42-14 victory over Grace Christian Academy. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Rams are ranked 43rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Battle Ground Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fletcher Fields, who rushed for 211 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries. Fields' longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards. Kaedyn Marable was another key signal caller, throwing for 233 yards and four TDs while completing 88.2% of his passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Battle Ground Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 266 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
Meanwhile, while Boyd-Buchanan put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Grace Christian Academy. The Buccaneers claimed a resounding 35-0 victory over the Lions. The win was just business as usual for the Buccaneers, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Battle Ground Academy better keep an eye on David Green. He was instrumental in Boyd-Buchanan's win, rushing for 81 yards and one score on only eight carries.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Boyd-Buchanan, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Green, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Boyd-Buchanan's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. Mason Bates was especially locked on to Grace Christian Academy's QB and sacked him twice. The game marked Bates' first with multiple sacks this season.
