Softball Recap: Dunwoody Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Dunwoody waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins...and they left with four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Decatur Bulldogs, sneaking past 6-4. Surprisingly, this marked the third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Dunwoody saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Deupree, who went 2-for-4 while logging 1 home run and 3 RBIs. The three RBIs were her most since August 13th, when she brought in four vs. Southwest DeKalb.

Dunwoody has now won six of their last seven games on the road. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those road wins came by way of their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Decatur, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4.

Dunwoody and Decatur should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Wildcats (ranked 118th) will meet Lakeside (ranked 280th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Decatur will have a rank advantage in their game against Meadowcreek at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
