Woodmore has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Danbury Lakers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Woodmore slipped by Calvert 42-41.
Meanwhile, Danbury put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 56-16 win over Ottawa Hills at home. With Danbury ahead 45-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Danbury's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maria Maringer led the charge by scoring 12 points along with three steals. Maringer is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Mia McDonald was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Woodmore is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Danbury, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
