The Kenston Forest Kavaliers will be playing at home against the Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Kenston Forest will be strutting in after a victory while Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot will be coming in after a loss.
Kenston Forest scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Amelia Academy at home to the tune of 58-23. That 35 points margin sets a new team best for Kenston Forest this season.
Meanwhile, Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot ended up a good deal behind Brunswick Academy on Tuesday and lost 54-36. While losing is never fun, Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while Brunswick Academy is ranked 146th).
Despite the loss, Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot got a solid performance out of Charlie Potter, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Potter scored 15 or more points. Lily Hickey was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.
Kenston Forest's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
Kenston Forest came out on top in a nail-biter against Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot when the teams last played on January 4th, sneaking past 28-26. Will Kenston Forest repeat their success, or does Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
