The Annenberg Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 76-20 loss at the hands of Downtown Magnets. Annenberg was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-8.
Downtown Magnets got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Train out in front who scored 14 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for him. Patrick Lei was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Annenberg bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.3 points per game. As for Downtown Magnets, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Annenberg won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Aspire Ollin at 2:30 p.m. on December 14th. Aspire Ollin has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. Downtown Magnets won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Chavez at 4:00 p.m. on December 14th. Chavez will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1327th, while Downtown Magnets is ranked 380th).
