It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Bishop Verot Vikings can now relate to. They fell to the Tornadoes 38-32. It was the first time this season that Bishop Verot let down their fans at home.
Bishop Verot's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Deshon Jenkins jr and Carter Smith. Jenkins jr rushed for 168 yards while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, while Smith rushed for 117 yards and three touchdowns.
Josiah Booker was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Booker, adding 12 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of Oswaldo Mendoza-Munoz: he added nine points with three field goals, and another three kicking extra points.
Bishop Verot's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Booker, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.
Bishop Verot does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Booker will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Cocoa at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Cocoa: 9.7, Booker: 18.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
