Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division II recap Oct. 16, 2012
Andover extended the longest winning streak in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division II this week by beating Valley Center, 21-8. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Arkansas City moved up to 85 from 115 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bulldogs climbed the ranks as a result of besting Central 41-20.
Blake Meier put up the best numbers through the air as the Jaguars lost to Arkansas City. He finished with nine completions for 168 yards and 35 touchdowns. Meier's favorite target this week was Cameron Hurley, who caught two passes for 41 yards.
Austin Chippeaux was the best wideout in the league this week as Goddard topped Liberal. Chippeaux racked up three receptions for 57 yards. Joey Sanmiguel helped Goddard's passing attack out by catching one ball for 23 yards.
Miles Starks made the biggest impact on defense this week as Andover bested the Hornets. The junior grabbed one interception.
Devin Bultmann was the most productive running back in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division II this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 225 yards as the Lions beat the Redskins. Collin Nevil also contributed to the rushing game with 77 yards on the ground.
Central's Meier and Kolten Holinde have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Meier has thrown for 991 yards this season, while Holinde has 22 catches for 379 yards. Bultmann from Goddard leads the league in rushing with 616 yards.
Scott Vang's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on Liberal. Bultmann in the win.
