Heartland III recap Oct. 30, 2012
Matthew BOONE and Colton HARER provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Canton. The longest such play in Heartland III this season, the connection resulted in 74 yards.
Southern Columbia Area extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Central Columbia, 15-7. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Montgomery's dynamic duo of BOONE and HARER proved tough for the Warriors to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. BOONE threw for 283 yards and two touchdowns and HARER had 266 yards receiving. Corey KRINER helped Montgomery's passing attack out by catching two balls for 17 yards.
Troy Hembury was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 165 yards on 30 carries as Muncy fell to Canton. Teammate Tj Moyle added to the ground attack by rushing for 40 yards.
Montgomery's BOONE and HARER have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Heartland III in both passing and receiving yards. BOONE has thrown for 1253 yards this season, while HARER, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 66 catches for 794 yards. The Indians' Hembury leads the league in rushing yards with 1081.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Warrior Run takes on Southern Columbia Area. The Defenders are in fourth place, while Jim R Roth's team is in first place.
Bloomsburg moved up to 189 from 235 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Panthers were able to make move up by defeating Danville 14-12.
