Mt. Pleasant had trouble last Friday, and unfortunately for them, their opponent this week is a big step up in difficulty. On Friday, they are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Pella at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Mt. Pleasant, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Mt. Pleasant couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost to Clear Creek-Amana by a decisive 7-26 margin.
Pella had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Dallas Center-Grimes last week as they made off with a 28-0 win.
Pella's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Mt. Pleasant's loss dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Pella can add another positive mark to their record or if Mt. Pleasant can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Pella's step.
