Two dominant signal callers in Easton Pace and James Dellavolpe are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Norwalk Bears will be playing at home against the Warde Mustangs at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Norwalk took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Stamford 34-0. Considering the Bears have won four matchups by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Norwalk to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kevin Gordon, who picked up 144 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. Gordon really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 78 yards. Rhys Peterson was another key signal caller, throwing for 214 yards and four TDs on only 15 passes.
Norwalk's run defense was locked in: Stamford could only muster 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Yancy Braxton for the heroic effort on defense: he. Norwalk didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.5.

Norwalk didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gordon and Gavin Riina. Gordon also posted 144 receiving yards, which is notable because Norwalk is 3-1 when he posts at least 100 receiving yards, but 1-3 otherwise. Another thorn in Stamford's side was Jaxon Ermo, who picked up 0.5 sacks, made ten total tackles (1.0 for loss), and defended one pass.
Meanwhile, Warde strolled past Westhill with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 28-13.
Norwalk better keep an eye on Andrew Shelov. He was instrumental in Warde's win, picking up 107 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Warde's defense and their three sacks. Jamauri Brown was especially locked on to Westhill's QB and sacked him twice.
Warde's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Norwalk, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Norwalk against Warde in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-0 victory. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
