The San Simon Longhorns's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 32-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of The Gregory School. San Simon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as The Gregory School apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
The Gregory School got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rose Pisetsky out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Pisetsky pulled down eight or more rebounds. Zena Smith was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
San Simon's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.8 points per game. As for The Gregory School, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
San Simon will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley Union at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for The Gregory School, they will head out on the road to square off against Ray at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ray comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
