The Sunnyslope Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the Xavier College Prep Gators at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Sunnyslope's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Millennium 18-0. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

04/11/25 @ Corona del Sol | 2 |
03/26/25 vs Apollo | 2 |
03/24/25 @ Willow Canyon | 2 |

Miriam Boice was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Molly Nordstrom, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one double.
Sunnyslope always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millennium only posted an OBP of .211.
Meanwhile, Xavier College Prep put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Desert Ridge as they made off with an 11-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Gators in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won four in a row.
Angie Falls made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sariah McNabb, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. Joie Ramos was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Xavier College Prep pushed their record up to 16-5-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Sunnyslope, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 10-12.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Sunnyslope hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .408. However, it's not like Xavier College Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .374. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Sunnyslope might still be hurting after the 16-1 defeat they got from Xavier College Prep when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
