On Thursday, Woodcreek was able to grind out a solid win over Kennedy, taking the game 63-54.
Woodcreek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyler Hennessey led the charge by scoring 12 points. The matchup was Hennessey's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Michael Kirby, Jr., who scored 11 points.
Kennedy's loss came despite strong showings from Taylor Shirley and Robert Holiday. Shirley scored 13 points, while Holiday scored 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Lawrence, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
Woodcreek now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Kennedy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Woodcreek will head out on the road to face off against Elk Grove at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Elk Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday. Kennedy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Tokay at 5:45 p.m. on December 1st.
