The Purchase Line Red Dragons suffered their biggest defeat since December 15, 2023 on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 59-30 loss at the hands of Marion Center. Purchase Line's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it five in a row.
Purchase Line's loss came despite strong showings from Jakob Mountain and Jacob Kauffman. Mountain scored six points along with six rebounds, while Kauffman scored eight points.
Purchase Line struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They are winless (0-4) when they just don't pass the ball.
Marion Center's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameron Pack, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Evan Risinger, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Purchase Line's defeat was their 11th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-15. As for Marion Center, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.
Purchase Line will head out on the road to square off against Harmony Area at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Harmony Area has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for Marion Center, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Penns Manor at 7:15 p.m. on January 26th.
