Beauregard is 0-10 against Brewbaker Tech since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Beauregard Hornets will head out on the road to take on the Brewbaker Tech Rams at 6:00 p.m. Beauregard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 297th, while Brewbaker Tech is ranked 100th).
After a string of six wins, Beauregard's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Valley 42-37. Beauregard has struggled against Valley recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, with a playoff game on the line, Brewbaker Tech rose to the challenge on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Saints as they made off with a 53-31 win. The win was nothing new for Brewbaker Tech as they're now sitting on four straight.
Brewbaker Tech can attribute much of their success to Kennedi Mcghee, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Erin Martin, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. Martin has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last 11 times she's played. Taliah July was another key contributor, scoring a point along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Beauregard's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-10. As for Brewbaker Tech, they pushed their record up to 16-14 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Beauregard was dealt a bruising 60-30 defeat at the hands of Brewbaker Tech in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. Can Beauregard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
