Dallas and Crestwood are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Mountaineers will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Comets at 6:00 p.m. Dallas is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Dallas nor Wilkes-Barre made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Mountaineers came out on top against the Wolfpack by a score of 6-1.
NINA BARROUK spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 17 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on CAROLYN COMITZ, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of SOPHIA MAIER, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Crestwood earned a 4-1 win over Northwest Area on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Comets have won by exactly three runs.
Crestwood saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emilie Stofko, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Dallas has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Crestwood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.
Crestwood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Dallas has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Crestwood, though, as they've been averaging 8.9 hits. Given Dallas' sizable advantage in that area, the Comets will need to find a way to close that gap.
Dallas came out on top in a nail-biter against Crestwood in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Mountaineers repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
