A big part of Columbus' win came down to the chemistry between Serenity Hickman and her top target Harmony Franklin. Hickman threw for 186 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.3% of her passes while Franklin gained 124 total yards and three touchdowns. Hickman didn't just play on offense: she also made 13 total tackles and defended one pass.
Columbus didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Alexandria Lofton.
Despite the defeat, Washington County had strong showings from Jade Kitchens, who rushed for 62 yards and one touchdown on only six carries, and Tiasia Graham, who gained 108 total yards and two touchdowns.
Columbus is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.
