On Thursday, everything came up roses for Dakota at home against Skyline as the team secured a 64-15 win. That looming 64-15 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Dakota yet this season.
Dakota had a senior duo take command as Samone Andrews scored 13 points along with five assists and four steals and Tambre Williams scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. The contest was Andrews' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Brooks-Foster, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Dakota's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Skyline, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dakota will square off against Ferndale at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Ferndale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Dakota is ranked 13th). Skyline will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bedford at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
