After flying high against South Point last Wednesday, Westfall came back down to earth. The Mustangs came up short against the Alexander Spartans on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Westfall took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-19, 25-22.
Westfall's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Joni Snyder, who had seven digs and two aces, and Adrina Hicks, who had 11 digs. Snyder is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last six games she's played.
Alexander can attribute much of their success to Abbi Ohms, who had 17 digs and two assists.
Westfall's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Alexander, their win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-3.
As of now, neither Westfall nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
