 At the plate,  Gunner Skelton and  Jacob Woodward stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Skelton  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-4, while  Woodward  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Briar Helton, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 Loretto's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Columbia Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.
 Loretto will look to defend their home field  on Monday against Mt. Pleasant at 6:30  p.m. As for Columbia Academy, they will head out on the road to  take on  Franklin Road Academy at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. Columbia Academy is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
