The Peak to Peak Pumas waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 68-60 victory over Stargate School. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Peak to Peak was led to victory by Elijah Eschmeyer and Grant Boonstra. Eschmeyer dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten blocks, while Boonstra dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Boonstra has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Hirt, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Connor Rusch, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Hunter Roark was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Peak to Peak has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Stargate School, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
Peak to Peak will be playing at home against Colorado Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Colorado Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Peak to Peak likes a good challenge. As for Stargate School, they will head out on the road to face off against Eagle Ridge Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
