After a string of four wins, the Summit View Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of San Fernando Valley Academy by a score of 44-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Summit View has suffered yet this season.
San Fernando Valley Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Xzavier Herrera led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Herrera scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Corral, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Summit View's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5. As for San Fernando Valley Academy, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
