On Tuesday, Gaylord was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-52 to Bay City Western.
When it comes to explaining why Gaylord lost, one person who can't be blamed is Luke Gelow. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds. Gelow has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Aidan Locker was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Gaylord's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Bay City Western, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.

Gaylord is facing Traverse City Central at the right time seeing as Traverse City Central is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Bay City Western, they will head out on the road to square off against Lapeer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lapeer is coming into the matchup with six straight losses at home, meaning Bay City Western will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
