The Rome Free Academy Black Knights waltzed into their matchup Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 59-42 win over Baldwinsville. Given Rome Free Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Baldwinsville is ranked 228th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Rome Free Academy to victory were Deandre Neal and Surafia Norries. Neal scored 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Norries scored 16 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The contest was Neal's third in a row with at least ten points. Luke Hammon was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Rome Free Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.7 points per game. As for Baldwinsville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
