With a playoff game on the line, the Wilson Prep Tigers rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past Weldon 50-8 at home. Winning may never get old, but Wilson Prep sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
Wilson Prep was led to victory by Xavier Williams and Khamani Barnes. Williams rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, while Barnes rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Barnes was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 53 yards. Christian Richardson was another key contributor, rushing for 108 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Wilson Prep has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record. As for Weldon, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Wilson Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against North Moore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Moore is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Weldon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
